Program Overview
The IMO Model Course 7.03 prepares students to become Officers in Charge of a Navigational Watch (3rd Officer). The course focuses on navigation, ship operations, maritime safety, and practical bridge watchkeeping.
- Duration: 12 months of academic study + 12 months of sea service
- Training Facilities: Full-Mission Bridge Simulator, Maritime Simulation Centre, GMDSS Simulator
- Starting Position: Third Officer (3/O)
- Career Growth: Progression to Second Officer (2/O), Chief Officer (C/O), and Captain

Training Ship Placement
Students may:
- Option A: Arrange their own sea service (following international norms)
- Option B: Request AMCOL’s assistance for placement (subject to an additional fee of $3,000, with a 4–6 months waiting period)
Career Opportunities
Graduates start as Third Officers and can progress to senior ranks such as Second Officer, Chief Officer, and ultimately Captain. Salaries typically start from $2,500–$3,500 USD per month, reaching up to $15,000 USD per month for senior ranks.
